We Understand Libs, They Don’t Understand Us

April 2, 2010 Political Blog 24 Comments

All of this latest activity by the White House in sending out a clearly bogus jobs report, making the focus to sell the Obamacare plan even after passage, and so forth indicates just how completely out of touch they are with America. It is obvious that they don’t have a clue what is really important to most of us, and they probably never will.

But there’s a good reason for this. All normal minded conservative folks, and we do make up the largest segment of society, are capable of understanding the liberal mind, but the liberal mind will probably never comprehend us.

Hopefully, you watched the video and saw the glaring contrast between the liberal nutcase and the adults rallying. It’s really worth watching the dichotomy.

There are many scholarly works on possible causes for the mental defect of liberalism, and I agree that it is a mental defect. A mind that does not strive for excellence and achievement in its given environment flies in the very face of the Darwin and natural selection they claim to adhere to so strongly. It’s simply not a natural state for a person to spend their adult years wanting to be taken care of rather than making their own way in the world.

However, it’s not necessary to understand all the psychological and possible genetic factors that go into making up the liberal mind to see just a few of its obvious manifestations:

  • Distorted view of fairness where all benefits flow one way
  • Revulsion toward responsibility, even if it means decreased life benefits
  • Constant state of existence as a victim of others
  • Refusal to allow others benefit of their work
  • Jealousy toward achievement of others
  • Belief in a nanny state or a constant caregiver with no strings attached
  • Ignorance as to how money is really earned and its value
  • Lashing out personally against ideas that don’t match their views
  • Indifference to the rights of others, as long as theirs are allowed
  • Disparaging of the norms of society, but willing to use them as weapons
  • Elevating all wants and needs to the level of inalienable rights

The list is not even close to being inclusive, but the pattern should be emerging to anyone who has successfully grown through the early pubescent years of human intellectual development. If you have a teenager, you’re being reminded of it once again.

And this is precisely why we can understand liberals, but they cannot understand us. We have been there. It’s a normal part of our development to go through this phase. The abnormality is being unable or unwilling to grow beyond this stage into responsible adulthood. In other words, liberals live in a constant state of teen rebellion, lashing out at anything that does not serve their needs, immediately.

Some may ask: Well, what’s the harm? What damage could such a mind do? In the body of a 13 year old, the damage is much easier to control, but it is still dangerous if not controlled. It is obvious why we set minimum ages for driving, drinking, and voting. The normal mind is capable of handling these responsibilities at those ages.

However, in the body of an adult, with access to all of the benefits of adult life, the damage can be immeasurable, even with a small percentage of these defective minds in society. They are willing to become single-minded of purpose and band together to obtain what they want. They do not believe in any rules, except for getting what they want. Unlike a 13 year old that might slam a door and throw a tantrum, when these folks throw a tantrum, it is loud, public and it gets attention.Because they don’t care about rules, they will damage property and do and say the most outrageous things to get attention  They have the ability as a result to fool normal people into believing that they are a larger group than they are.

According to Gallup, we only have about 20 percent of the population that really is deeply liberal. The rest of society is made up of about 41 percent conservatives, and about 35 percent moderates. (It’s believed that many who list themselves as moderate in current polls only do so due to the constant demonization of conservatives in the media, but they still hold conservative beliefs.)

So, how do you deal with liberals? Remember, you understand them, and they don’t understand you. They are not willing to consider your viewpoints as valid. In fact, due to their immature state of development, they probably see you more in an objective rather than human form. To them, you are simply an obstacle to their desires or something from which to obtain desires. Therefore, dialog is rarely going to be possible.

My preferred method of dealing with liberals is to smack them down when they make a direct, personal attack. In no way should we give them even a momentary impression that we will put up with this behavior. It is their preferred method of attack. It’s also important to make them understand that they are up against an immovable force. Again, this goes back to dealing with teenagers. Being consistently firm in opposition to their plans or bad behavior is essential.

Knowing that liberals will demand you play by rules but they do not, you can expect that they will accuse you of every breach of conduct possible. Liberals are very much that snotty kid that pulled your hair in seventh grade that cried to the teacher when you slugged him in return. You’ll be called racist, homophobe, selfish, greedy, anything they can throw at you to try to make you back down or get on the defensive. Don’t buy it for a second. Your natural instinct is to defend yourself. Don’t bother. Your facts will fall on deaf ears. They don’t care. They only wanted to put you off balance and use the moment to take advantage.

Understand that liberals often feed off each other’s beliefs, even if they are completely outrageous and untrue. They engage in a kind of group speak of lies upon which they reinforce their distorted world view. Remember that table of Marxists in your student union building, always sitting together, making their plans and dreaming of “their world, their way”? Every school has at least a few of these somewhere. You knew they were nuts just by the look in their faces. Don’t engage this aspect of their interaction directly, individually. Just throw in a monkey wrench of facts or ridicule from time to time to interrupt the twisted flow of ideas.

Liberals are shallow of emotion and thin of skin. They are easily offended and take offense at nearly everything. Knowing this can give you excellent opportunities to throw them off balance. They can also be easily angered and even demoralized if you pick the right weak points of their fragile psyches.

Liberals can easily be defeated in public rallies. They are usually in very small numbers compared to what the average tea party group can turn out. Counter-protests are very effective. You’ll find that if you turn out in 10 times the numbers to each of their little gatherings a couple of times, their numbers will decrease in the future.

This is by no means a complete guide to understanding and battling liberals, but using your own well-developed adult common sense, you should have all the basics necessary to draw upon your own experience and handle these people in the future.

    Great article,Greg!

  3. Good one, Greg! We often talk at our house about liberals having the same qualities and level of maturity as teenagers and college-age adults. They haven’t grown up, accepted the facts of life, i.e., that life is what YOU make of it, you are responsible for yourself and your family (if you’re mature enough to choose to have one), that you reap what you sow.

It’s to be expected that young people who have no experience yet with life think and act the way they do. It’s ridiculous and pathetic when adult people do.

One thing I’ve noticed about every one of the liberals I know well, either friends or family members, is that they all seem to share a resentment, a general bitterness, a cynical view of life in general. Sort of a generalized undirected anger, that manifests itself in a mean-spirited style of humor, (which they describe as ‘dry’), and a resentment of anyone who makes more money than they do. Have you noticed that? I’ve also noticed that these same people have no relationship with God, and seemingly have no spiritual beliefs whatsoever.

    Good post!

  4. [WARNING: The following is an actual comment left at the site. A few dozen similar have been received but have been deleted. This is published in order to illustrate the veracity of the points made in the article. The language is graphic and has not been edited.]

Now just replace the word “liberal” with the word “nigger” (or “lib with “nig” where you can), copy it and paste it and voilà- whole new blog post. It’ll fit right in, you bankrupt (morally/literally) old fuck. You really are just a huge fucking idiot.

  5. That comment sums it ALL up perfectly Greg! Funny, the ONLY people who use disgusting racial slurs like that are the VILE CREATURES on the left. Kudos on your article and more KUDOS for keeping this comment for ALL to see just how VILE they really are. All the BEST my friend!

Apparently censorship is also acceptable, even when opposing viewpoints are politely and respectfully worded. Or you have yet to approve my comment. In which case kindly delete this post (though if you did indeed delete my first comment, I cannot imagine why you would post this one.)

Checked spam and trash folders and can find nothing matching your posting name or your IP address. Sorry. The only postings that are not approved contain direct personal attacks or far too much profanity to be considered thoughtful.

If you want to try again, I’ll be glad to look. Again, I’m sorry. I have never emptied the trash folder on this site, so I cannot imagine what happened.

    Greg:

I’ve never met a liberal who can make a logical argument for or against anything. The thinking process of the liberal defies all that is logical. The only way to truly understand a liberal is to try and look at them the way one would view any other species of mammal who’s behavior science has not yet defined: They just are the way they are, stay away from them and don’t let them bite you.

When America voted the great Annointed One into office, Americans basically stuck our hand into the liberal zoo cage and let them bite us. Now, it’s time to move the bars of the cage closer together to keep the liberals from doing that again.

    Yours in patriotism

  8. Michael says:

Great article Sir! I was appalled by the comment that a “liberal” guy left on your blog. I was very surprised at how eager you were to base your comments of a liberal population on one “moonbat liberal wacko”. Sir, I am sure you are aware of the racial slurs that occurred by the Tea Party Movement on one particular occasion. Hence, I don’t think that one or two incidences of indecency should mean that liberals are juvenile or conservatives are racist. That would be a very biased argument because stereotyping is in-self is a bad thing and on top of that, stereotyping based on a small group of people is rather dangerous.

First of all, I hope that you won’t delete my comments. This is the fourth conservative blog that I have tried to present my views on. They either don’t get published or the blog-author writes that I am a biased idiot and he won’t publish my views. I guess that is fine. But I would just like to present a few points about your article.

    1) Distorted views of fairness where all the benefits flow one way.

==> Is that supposed to mean that liberals want to get all the benefits?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_states_and_blue_states

if you go to the section that compares household income and political support, you will realize that 52% of people who earned 200,000 or more voted for Obama versus 48%. Hence, your argument that liberals are poor and want benefit is wrong. Actually, it seems as though Liberals want to give their money to the needy and the poor.

Hence, your arguments 1,2,3,4 and 5 in defining a liberal seems wrong.

Interestingly, it seems that 58% of the people with a Graduate Degree voted for Obama versus 40% for the Republicans. Hence, it seems that in general Liberals are quite well-educated.

    2) Belief in a nanny state and constant caregiver with no strings attached.

I don’t even understand where this comes from – especially considering republicans believe in Jesus. I thought one of the main messages of Christianity was to help mankind and poor. I think that is what health-care is about.

    3) As for your last 5 arguments, I could say the same thing about Conservatives. There have been conservatives who have lashed out and who are not prepared to listen to others. You have that among Conservatives as well as Liberals. That is not a measure of political affiliation but rather a measure of stupidity. There are stupid liberals and stupid conservatives.

You commented about how liberals are easily defeated in public rallies. I find that amusing. Could it because we turn up when it matters.. lets say during Government Elections and that is how we won last time?

Lashing out against liberals using a baseless, personal attacks is rather ridiculous. I could also call the Conservatives warmongering imperialists because every time a Conservative is in power there is a huge war.

I have liked some of the ideas of conservatives when they make sense but when your policies become so narrow that your beliefs are “everything against the liberals”, you seem to be rather biased.

Seriously – Take the health care debate for example. The current health care plan was originally introduced by Republicans when Clinton administration was trying to setup their health care. Mitt Romney, a Republican was the one who used this model with great success in Massachusetts and later he became against it. Does that even make sense?

When the Social Security was announced, people thought Democrats were Communists as well and now look how much of a beneficial system it has been. Having a little welfare is by no means being communists. The most successful countries in the world ( in terms of life-expectancy, happiness of people, equality) are the ones that have a more social form of a government that is transparent, provides for the needy.

Being liberal is also being patriotic. Wanting to help out a fellow American who is suffering from a life threatening disease and his insurance company refuses payment is also a form of patriotism.

    • GregWHoward says:

In a spirit of fairness, I have approved your comments. However, my personal opinion is that they do not help your cause, but thanks for feeling free to express yourself here.

      • SouthSideScotty says:

I always get a kick out of the way that these people always want to point out that liberals are more educated and there for they are smarter. That in my humble opinion is a big part of the problem with these people. You end up with a whole bunch of book smart people who have very little real life experience, mostly coming from privilege and wealth. They are so smart that they dont seem to have a lick of common sense most of the time. Got a whole gang of them in power right now living in their gated communities, all self important and smarter then the common folks that they have been ELECTED to REPRESENT, public opinion, sometimes overwelming public opinion doesnt matter because they are smarter then us and they know whats best for us and then they wonder why they arent as popular as THEY think they should be, Hmmmm, must be racism… Our founding fathers wrote a guide 2 the future of what became the greatest nation, 1 page, they write a bill just 2 FIX healthcare and its something like 20,000 pages.
Some of the greatest wisdom I’ve ever heard comes from the likes of grandparents with a grade school education, grandpa used to say, “Don’t need a college education to know which way the winds blowin when theres a stink in the air !!”

        • ToddyLittman says:

I hope this ends up posted under the points made about education by Michael above….

When the Shuttle Discovery blew up in 1986 and we lost 6 Astronauts, George Bush 41 issued an Executive Order to get the shuttle fleet back up in the air and get the program back on track. Morton Thiokol, the company who was responsible, was given the responsibility to make sure that another space shuttle didn’t explode upon take off, at least that, if it happens again, it’ll not be due to what caused this tragedy.

Morton Thiokol subcontracted this job to a company run by experts in the field of Non Destructive Testing (NDT) which uses transducers that could (at the time) broadcast frequencies at a physical vibration of up 10 ghz through water, and more recently, through air as well. These devices were to move through weld holes in the “space shuttle O-Ring,” a massive structure, bigger than a 4 car garage, which is welded to the bottom of the booster rocket, and investigations showed that one of the weld holes cracked under pressure of launch at the time. Without getting “in the weeds” on details, there is a need for extreme precision in rotating this massive ring in a tank of water and running the transducer through each hole.

Well, of course, the government required a particular stepper motor controller be used for this contract, and this device with a 1 khz processor was then to interface with a 40 mhz 486 at the time via direct serial port communication.

Well, after 2 and a half weeks trying to get these machines to speak to each other, the company couldn’t make it happen. Their degrees and expertise were no match for the reasoning needed to make these devices speak to each other. The persistent problem was that they were absolutely certain of principles that, when taken to the theoretical, would be true, but when applied, would consistently result in error.

I haven’t any of those fancy degrees, and one of the engineers knew me, asking me to go there and see what I can do. I’d often had coffee with him in a coffee clutch and had previously invited him to look into the engineering possibilities of some invention ideas I had at the time. I arrived at the location, without any of the clearances required, and about 6 hours later the machines were talking to one another. They were gleeful and then showed me the Presidential Purchase order issued according to the Executive Order to get this done.

If one is willing to stand far enough back they discover that education teaches “rational” thinking, the notion that elimination of possibilities will lead to the right conclusion, a sort of last man standing theory of deduction. This is a methodology that would easily lead to the incident in the video, to run around on ones bicycle shouting “you’re not welcome here,” as a means to “eliminate all possibilities,” applied to those present as a form of problem and their education and rational thinking. This is the same reason many believe that an argument can lead to the right answer, when in fact, it can only lead to two people eventually unable to agree or to agree over specific points, if not all of what is said, a conclusion that is just one degree of at least 360 squared in a sphere of options. Critical thinking replaced with “rational” thinking the significant reason the Liberal has little affection for Individual Liberty according to the Declaration of Independence, and opts for “my rights under the Constitution,” claiming this instrument the basis of some sort of “collective rights granted from government.”

Between the actual intent of the NEA, (http://web.archive.org/web/20090423190627/http://www.nea.org/tools/17231.htm), to this adopted perspective of rational thought being how we divine reason, the bed has been made for how we arrived at a Socialist occupant in the White House today. The Liberals’ persistent certainties, to the point of assuming a limitation of money as a “rational” point of view in a nation with 300 million inventors who can thereby create wealth, is an even more accurate example of the lack of value of education in America today as anything more than a means of indoctrination, a Liberal means to make the future claims of limits made by Liberals, Progressives, and their ilk, true. I find this to have been the goal of the NEA from its inception, http://changingwind.org/index/comment.php?comment.news.148, and, this is a big reason many Americans have been infected with the disease of Liberalism and are stuck in adolescence.

These “educated” have even gone so far as to look for a genetic justification for their affliction, http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/10/101027161452.htm, of which, obviously, the Stalinist bike rider in your video is genetically infused to the point that all reason, except the narcissistic certainty of his own, is null and void. To coin an idea, Liberalism is “the Alzheimer’s of reason,” and in the same way this disease is vicious on the mind and family surrounding the afflicted, the collective corruption of Liberalism is a disease, a tumor claiming itself the mind of a Nation, destroying every semblance of the genuine genius of the People through destroying knowledge of their Individual Liberty, a debilitating disease invoked by government confronting the People’s Liberty by regulation as a means of force, a persistence of dishonorable acts done to stifle and destroy all basis and semblance of reason to any root thereof — Oppression. This leaves a vacuum Government has proven time and time again to fill with force, coercion, and further corruption by similarly infected minds.

It is the way of the power-mongering by whatever name, Progressive, Liberal, Communist, Fascist, etc., that the only way to assure there is on oppression is to oppress all who would oppose them. The glaring truth of their ideological view, particularly amongst the worker “minion class” who believe their education places them above the rest of the population, unaware that their background, education, and experience causes a lack of capacity for them to comprehend this truth, that they’ve been “educated” to self-enforce a lack of synaptic gap, by accepting their place in the hive as a rightful moral duty in self-obedience to its dictates, and adopted this as a synonym for self-government.

  11. Greg,
I have see your tweets for months and just got around to looking at your site. I love this particular article, great writing style and content, plus your site is packed with really good content. You really delve into the liberal mind and appear to have come out unscathed. The liberal mind is a vacant, scary place.

Keep up the great work! I’m adding you to my blog roll.

It is great to locate a strong and clear conservative voice.

I appreciate your kind words. It often felt like a lonely fight until I found Twitter and blogging and discovered I was not alone; there are lots of folks like you out there.

  12. GoldOnion says:

Let me first say, thank you, Greg, for the work that you are doing.
Twitter has been very much a learning experience. (And from Greg’s other article re: “enemies list”, I guess more fun is to come). Once I figured out how much libs are alike, I started calling it the “cookie cutter” response. I’d been telling people in warm circles about my observations. I’ve even had ppl observe in real time, the nasty, round-in-circle, weaving in and out type tweets. All the while, explaining what I saw as a pattern and predicting well what would occur in the next Twitter reply. This article really tied it together for me. And it bore witness to my instincts and commonsense. Yeah! I plan to share and use this article as a reference. Sorry soooo long :P

  15. This is very true. They do not understand conservative points of view because they feel no need to. They know that they are right and nothing you say will change their distorted view, In Solomon’s Proverbs he tell us that a person who rejects correction is a fool – a man without God.

The liberal camp is not capable of understanding why others refuse to agree with them. They will only listen to reason that supports their agenda and will reject anything (especially biblical) that refutes their reasoning. Even when you ‘smack them down’ as you put it, they do not understand and are silent for only a short while. Then they accuse you of being a bully.

    Keep standing on your principles!
