Who Exactly Is James Eric Fuller?

The media frenzy over the shooting on January 8, 2011, in Arizona by Jared Lee Loughner of nearly two dozen people, including the wounding of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and the assassination of U.S. District Judge John Roll refuses to die down. The act was clearly that of a young man with a deranged mind.
It took only minutes before the acts were blamed on Tea Party, veterans, and eventually that most dangerous weapon of all, rhetoric. The feeding frenzy grew in fever and pitch, eventually leading to the scapegoating of noted conservative leaders, including the left’s target du jour, Sarah Palin.
Emerging from this is a new “victim” over which the mainstream media is fawning, namely James Eric Fuller.
One of Loughner’s alleged victims, James Eric Fuller, went on to claim notoriety for himself on Saturday, January 15, 2011, by appearing at a town hall meeting and getting arrested for threats and intimidation. This alone is a very interesting turn of events in the story line that hate-filled rhetoric led to Loughner’s actions. It would end here if the media and their willing mouthpieces on the left in social media had not moved immediately to excuse Fuller’s actions on the grounds of post traumatic stress disorder and other similar, nebulous grounds.
On Monday, January 17, 2011, the media moved into full fawning mode over James Eric Fuller, reporting that he had apologized for his threats at the town hall meeting. Again, the social media left whipped themselves into a frenzy, “What a man!” “See how much better we are!”
Okay, so exactly who is James Eric Fuller? What has the press looked into with this man who has foisted himself to the national spotlight so deliberately?
A quick check of court records in Pima County, Arizona, reveals that on November 24, 1997, a man by the name of Prince Eric Fuller legally changed his name to James Eric Fuller. The order was signed by Judge Lina Rodriguez under case number c323363. (View docket here.) From that point, the trail on James Eric Fuller goes cold, but the trail on Prince Eric Fuller picks up.
A simple web search for the name Prince Eric Fuller yields a huge surprise, readily available to anyone with a search engine. Before the U.S. Supreme Court a case was heard under Fuller v. Oregon, 417 U.S. 40 (1974). The case was brought by Prince Eric Fuller and involves whether or not an indigent person may be forced to pay court and other costs associated with their crime or whether the charging of such costs would violate equal protection tenets of the law. The appeal was lost, and SCOTUS affirmed that said costs could indeed be taxed to the person convicted. On its face, this appears to be a rather mundane ruling on constitutional issues.
That is, until one examines the underlying conviction: Sodomy in the Third Degree!
So, at the bottom of the pile, we find that the Prince Eric Fuller who fought the payment of costs all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court had pleaded guilty to a sexual offense. The sentence was probationary, work-release type thing so common in the past, and still too common today.
And now the only question remaining is: Is the James Eric Fuller who changed his name from Prince Eric Fuller the same person who pleaded guilty to this charge, only to become forever enshrined in the annals of American jurisprudence?
Let’s look at the remaining evidence, and the reader may draw their own conclusion.
We know from news accounts that Fuller is reported to be 63 years old. This is nearly every news account. And we do a bit more digging on the internet to see what else may turn up:
First we have his Facebook page. Of particular import is his list of friends. This information will again appear in subsequent links.
We have three Intelius reports showing name, age, and known relatives of James Eric Fuller and Prince Eric Fuller.
Note the relatives for these individuals include one of the Facebook friends.
We have USSearch.com preliminary report showing Prince Eric Fuller with a number of aliases, all of which are related to the current name of James Eric Fuller.

So, the question remains, just who exactly is this new media darling, and why haven’t they looked into his past?

Any blunt injury to the knew area is extremely painful, let alone GSW.
I keep hearing news media say that he was shot in leg & the back. I dont think that’s what happened. I dont think there was any bullet in any part of Fuller’s body. He is not a gun shot victim, in my opinion. What probably happened is that he hit the concrete ground & got small fragments of what ever. Rather than stick around, he fled 2 the scene.
I dont think Jared shot at Fuller. I think Jared is too skillful & disciplined a shooter because he did not waste bullets (1 shot 1 kill sort of fellow). He aimed for live-sustaining organs & moved on to the next person. Why would a skilled shooter like Jared aim for boney legs when he went for the fatal shots like the head, heart & gut. Fuller is full of sh*t
I thought the same thing when I saw the photo of Fuller’s knee, Mike. I have had over thirty years in emergency medicine and was a combat medic in Vietnam before that. His neatly sutured linear wound looks very much like either a laceration (? self-inflicted) or a surgical incision. A 9mm bullet striking that part of the knee tangentially would leave a shallow macerated wound and if the bullet had struck at a more perpendicular angle it almost certainly would have shattered some bone and we wouldn’t expect to see the victim walking about on it without apparent difficulty.
I believe we will be learning much more about Mr. Fuller in the coming weeks and it’s not going to look good for those that were so quick to portray him a helpless victim of hateful rhetoric from the Right.

To a person unfamiliar with varieties of gun shot wounds, such as myself, It certainly passes for a graze wound if he had been caught by a bullet/bullet fragment on the way down as he was turning.
Loughner shot towards a brick wall, rather indiscriminately according to latest reports on the security cam video, and it seems possible that fragments might fly at all kinds of unexpected angles.
Some wonder if he went to the hospital at all – he did. He has a real wound, and he has shown his hospital bracelet to local reporters, one station has the camera zoom up on it a bit for dramatic effect – and he has a walker, what looks like a hospital issue walker.
The question remaining for doubters, who only doubt because of his inconsistent stories about the aftermath of the shooting and his general unbalanced condition coupled with oddness-level zealotry, and his self-reported history suggesting psychological/substance abuse issues (supported by documented brushes with the law) is whether he might have manufactured an injury.
I tend to think his first story, “I was taken to the hospital” might have been mere over-dramatization, instead of a slip revealing faked victim status. It is an odd misstatement, however. I don’t blame anyone noticing, and I’m not sure what accounts for it. The very unusual search of his yard and household that could not wait for morning, which required some kind of probable cause and required some specificity of items to search for keeps a little doubt alive for me.
However, the simplest explanation is that he was wounded in the attack, and the event tipped him over into a more acute version off whatever pre-existing unbalance he struggles with.
Maybe they were searching for illegal pharmaceuticals based on his tox screen. Perhaps in his agitated state he promised them a trail of bloody severed ears. Who knows.
When I think about the lack of interest of larger blogs or news networks in the background of Fuller, it makes me reconsider my own intense interest.
The truth is, unless there are new charges or a new development in Fullers story, his background is of little relevance or interest and there is no need for further exposure.
He’s already revealed himself unbalanced. The left is done with him, they used him when they thought he was useful and now, squish, thump thump, he’s under the bus.
He gets a few compassionate nods but is really discarded now that he’s compromised the narrative, like poor old Cindy Sheehan.
Why do they pick on these nuts? It’s just cynical and cruel and wrong.
MSNBC has better access to background check databases than I do, and If I can find out about his past in two shakes, I can’t believe they didn’t. They must have known they were taking advantage of a person with serious personal issues, who while he said what he they wanted to hear, was only saying it because he was not rational about it. Anyone who says to you in an interview the shooting made them realize they were destined to save the world one day, ought to pop an eyebrow or two.
I”m not sure I want to punch down on Mr. Fuller any further – it’s true they trotted him out as poster boy of the evil tea party, but consider how crazy his notions of the tea party were. “Tea Party Crime Syndicate”? Really? And now that he’s in the nut hatch for torture/ death threats he made, that can be linked to hateful lefty rhetoric, he’s successfuly undermined in a most ironic way the idea he was cynically used to promote.
To me the *real* story of Fuller, now, is how abominably he was picked up and discarded for the basest reasons by his “friends” on the left.
If there is evidence he lied about his victim status that comes out, I’m perfectly happy to offer up proof that he was a damaged and troubled, mentally ill person before the shooting, if only to show the people who used him could have discovered it so easily that they had to ignore this about him on purpose. They were at best taken in by a faker because they needed to fake something themselves.
I am very curious about the search warrant. I really do wonder what prompted that kind of search that could not even wait for the next day.
If he has ant connection to Loughner I will be truly shocked – but then again, strange things happen. Still waiting for some kind of shoe to drop.

I am a 20 year veteran of ER Trauma Nursing….I find his entire story of the shooting, his hospital release, and “wounds” to be very “odd” to say the least. Something big time doesn’t add up here. The pattern seems to be this guy craves attention, and now has lawyered up with this apology. I can smell a trumped up story a mile away. So can my sisters and brothers in Emergency Medicine. Without divulging any sources, let me state persons in the ER the day of the massacre found the “story” sketchy. Be patient (thats nursing humor), this guy is not telling the truth. More to come out.
I am thinking he stabbed himself, said it was a “through and through” and is hiding behind HIPAA to protect his lie. Actually, it would not violate HIPAA for those involved to report a crime to police, matter of fact, they are required to.

Wow, that’s a very informative addition to the story. This rabbit hole is getting deeper. Reports vary. Some say he was shot twice. Once in leg and once in back. Honestly, I’ve seen the video posted earlier in the comment thread of this guy’s injury. I’m not so sure the leg wounds are consistent with a 9 mm bullet. But that’s not my area of expertise. Also if shot in the back, too, how is he driving around to make apologies, etc. I don’t get it. Nothing is adding up. The only thing we know for sure is the more we dig into Fuller’s background, and there’s more going to come out in future articles, the stranger this is getting.

I am almost completely convinced that he fabricated his alleged gunshot injuries. I believe it’s true that he was there because someone would have refuted that by now…however there’s no way that with a GSW to the knee OR back in the ensuing chaos, that anyone would have driven themselves to the hospital. Something is off about this story. Plus, once emergency units arrived, no one was allowed to come or go from the location. (remember, Ina Rd was closed for hours)….so either he left while the event was still in process or he was there and should be on a police report from the scene as a witness….
My hypothesis is that he was somewhere at the shopping plaza…took off while the incident was in progress (perhaps in shock and quite possible with a scraped knee or some other residual fleeing damage) and then saw an opportunity for the attention he seems to crave. He then threw together this story thinking that the sympathetic press would eat it up and that HIPPA will cover any other tracks.

How are we allowed to know that he has been taken to a hospital and is undergoing psychiatric evaluation?
There needs to be network of boots on the ground. We already see how the news media is gonna treat important stories from here on out. Bloggers need to start packing video cameras, setting up youtube accounts for on the spot upload from smart phones; & other investigative tools. Pack these cell phone video every where you go .. even to go outside to take out the trash.
My take is:
1. Giffords may not had been the target. Morelikely target was Judge Rolls. Hint of this suspicion is the obvious display of media coverup.
2. About the sodomy charge (sexual assault), which don’t surprise me, he may had been lurking around the internet at at that Zoosk online dating site to find another victim. Why would he mention his interest in that online dating site on facebook & NO mention of his military service on face book. A woman would be more impressed w/a man’s military resume than to see him posing w/a dog. A lot of women will accept a man if he has a nice house like Fuller has. But, something dont smell right w/Mr. Fuller.
3. Fuller may not had served in military honorably. If he had of, it may be possible he went to VA hospital for treatment. VA hospital have very tight lips on leaks unlike civilian hospitals.
4. Its possible that Fuller has been shipped out of state of Arizona. This may be why no info has leaked as to his exact whereabouts. Rest assured the Psych doctors have already drugged him up on just about every kind of psychotropic drug known to mankind including the experimental kind – all against his will..
5. CNN on today threw us a bone to quieten our curiosity. That CNN news release did not impress me not 1 bit.
6. Fuller is a bungling, talkative, lonely idiot who can’t hold ice water (unlike Jared, who pleads the 5th when under pressure). Fuller is expendable to the lefties, with no wife, no girlfriend, & possibly no dog.

(1) A person commits the crime of sodomy in the third degree if the person engages in deviate sexual intercourse with another person under 16 years of age or causes that person to engage in deviate sexual intercourse.
(2) Sodomy in the third degree is a Class C felony. [1971 c.743 §112]
And pedophile is not a legal term, so the more accurate would be convicted sex offender.
Having read the law in the context you provided, Mike, it is clear that the underlying act was charged to have taken place with a person below the age of consent. Therefore, your assessment that this was sex with a minor appears to have credence. Good research.
So a 27-year-old man was convicted of anal intercourse. That even would not be prosecuted in Oregon today. And even then it was a misdemeanor for which he was evidently put on probation.
I’d change my name too. And I think I would sue for “public disclosure of private facts,” which arises where one person (Greg W. Howard) reveals information that is not of public concern, and the release of which would offend a reasonable person. Unlike libel, truth is not a defense for invasion of privacy.
You are misstating the charges. Oregon code specifically states that for this code section to apply the act had to occur with a person under the age of 16. Nice try, but no cigar. Might try knowing your stuff before posting in a heavyweight environment.
In other words, whether the sex was gay or with a partner of opposite sex, it occurred with someone below the age of consent. In other words, it was rape under the law in that the status of the second actor was not sufficient to consentually engage in sexual relations. Commonly known as statutory rape.
Add to that the possibility that he pled down. Forcible rape was difficult to prosecute in the early seventies, and it was common for the charge to be reduced to sodomy
This was an era when physical evidence was limited, and victim testimony had all the same weaknesses it does today. A plea might take place to spare the victim trauma or because they made a poor witness for any number of reasons.
Nope, you’re both wrong. It only applies to deviant sex and below the age of consent. It is not simple statuatory rape. It has to include what is commonly called sodomy (or unnatural sex).
Please check the joey film again. It involves an underage boy, and the film is missng from redistributers list. It may be this is one of the porn films that disappeared either because some of the actors were underage or they couldn’t be located to show otherwise.
As titillating and salacious as the POSSIBLE link to gay porn is, I don’t know that it actually moves the conversation forward. The real issue is that Fuller appears to be a convicted sex offender. Beyond that, we get in to speculation. What’s more interesting is new information coming to light of his present comments regarding torture and making of ear necklaces of key GOP figures and his ties to hypnosis and mind control activities. That’s where this investigation is being focused at this time.
Of course it is not simple statutory rape – and the age of the victim a necessary component o the crime committed for the sodomy charge to apply.
It might be a plea down from forcible rape and/or kidnapping – a lesser charge brought, on purpose, to gain conviction.
(In Virginia it might have been reduced to object penetration.)
I certainly don’t discount the possibility that his victim was an underage boy, but that would be mere speculation at this point. If records exist about his conviction, they would likely only be found be attached to the SCOTUS case, or in archived newspapers.
Personally, I think the mind control and hypnosis is speculative and unnecessary. People are goaded all the time to do things, it doesn’t require an explanation of black arts added to it. That is if you want to believe there is anyone else involved in the shooting.
Investigate what you want. As for me, I’m moving foward by simply obtaining a photograph from the film in question.

Well, I’m interested in the 1 mile connection too. They may have known each other. I’m looking at the gay connection because so many other people link that way – as well as the g-string pictures from Jared at the end. That doesn’t make sense – it was developed on a 35 mm camera – but Jared has a cell phone camera – and he then is suppose to put one of the pictures on myspace – requiring him to digitize the photograph he just developed. Hynotism/brainwashing doesn’t preclude a gay link; actually new age brainwashing stuff or witchcraft sometimes has a heavy gay component to it.
I’m only interested in the possible gay angle as a reason why Loughner and Fuller might have connected. A lot about Loughner’s behavior is more about the expected behavior of an abuse victim than that of a paranoid schizophrenic. Talking to several people in the mental health community, it is pretty rare for paranoid schizophrenics to engage in this type of planned violence. Of course, this type of violence is rare in and of itself. Much remains to be scene.
As for the photo, yes, that is an odd piece of erotica — a g-string and a gun. More importantly, not sure how one takes that picture without assistance or a timer and a tripod.

The 74 court case says some of the charges were dropped, so what those other charges would be interesting. I’m not sure a man would go to the trouble to change his name based on a sodomy charge from 40 years ago.

This has probably already been done, but to satisffy my own curiosity I searched the archives of the Oregonian from 1965 – 1980 and retrieved 3 articles, all related to the appeal of his probation conditioned on repayment of court costs.
Though not terribly explicit about the charges, there were some details of value to me.
A Dec 1973 article establishes his age at the time of his appeal at 25, which would make him 63 today – that is, the same age as the J. Eric Fuller we are interested in.
A May 23 1974 article adds that at the time he was charged, he was attending a local college in Portland on the GI bill, and making a living on the side making silk screen prints.
A May 24 1974 is a briefer recap and contains no new detail about Prince Eric Fuller

If there are any boots on the ground, another newspaper archive that might yield up information is the Oregon Journal, which covered Portland and Multnomah from June 3, 1972 – 1982 . Prior to June 1972, the paper was The Oregon Daily journal.

The Facebook page appears to be taken down. This is now the second social media page for Fuller that has been taken down or scrubbed. This story just gets more strange by the day.
Out of curiosity I decided today to look up the name of a man I lived with around 1971 who beat and raped me when I told him I no longer wanted to live with him. This was after his attacking another of his girlfriends who he called “H” who came to warn me about him. I was very surprised to find him so prominently mentioned in the news media. This man is a talented pianist and a brutal, misogynist. I am not surprised to see he was charged with sexual assault as I was one of his victims. I doubt he was shot. More likely he inflicted the wounds on himself to ensure gaining notoriety. He was an opportunist in the 70′s and appears to be so now. For years after my encounter with Eric, I worried about meeting him on the streets of Portland. His legacy for me was fear and distrust of any man who expressed desire to be with me. He’s a shit who needs to be put away where he can no longer due anyone harm.
